Max Coates is a professional racing car driver from North Yorkshire.  After starting Karting at the age of 8 he has risen through the ranks to race and win in a number of different series.  He is now a well-known and liked driver in the support series to the BTCC.  

 

In 2016 he became the Renault UK Clio Cup Graduate Champion finishing 3rd overall.  He has completed another three seasons in the Clio Cup taking fourteen more race victories and finishing as runner up in 2019.  Max supplemented his 2019 Clio Cup campaign with races in the Britcar Endurance Championship, British RX and TCR UK where he won both races on a one-off appearance.  In 2018 he raced at the Dubai 24hr finishing on the podium for Ciceley Motorsport and then ended the season by finishing 2nd in the Clio Cup Internationale Finale at Paul Ricard in the South of France, beating drivers from 11 countries. 

 

Max has spent the last three seasons racing in the MINI CHALLENGE UK with Graves Motorsport, supporting the British Touring Car Championship with LIVE ITV4 TV coverage. He is a multiple-race winner and is a regular for wins and podium finishes.  His 2022 season also included racing for Dragon Sport in the British Endurance Championship alongside Rhys Lloyd, the pair picking up two podium finishes in 5 rounds.

In 2023 Max is competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB with Graves Motorsport.
