IN 2021 MAX RACED IN THE MINI CHALLENGE UK WITH GRAVES MOTORSPORT.

The season started with disaster as Max collided with another driver in the first race of the season, causing a DNF.  With a gearbox problem in race two, and avoiding another drivers crash in race two, it was the worst possible start.

Round two and Max bounced back with a podium and a race win, both firsts for the Graves team.  Round three at Oulton Park saw two short races with a number of cars crashing, Max took a pair of 4ths.  Then to Knockhill, Max seemingly carrying some issues with the car, he took reverse grid pole but could only manage a 4th place finish.

Next up was Max's home race meeting, Croft.  Whilst the team had understood the issues at Knockhill, there was no time to fix it and down on power, Max salvaged a 5th place grid position and a final race podium.

​

The penultimate round of the championship was at Donington, Max put his car on pole position, but finished 5th in race one.  He fought back through to a podium in race two before a mechanical failure casued a DNF in the final race.

​

The final event of the year was at Brands Hatch.  Max qualified in 2nd, but was forced off the track on the first lap.  He recovered from 11th to 7th, then finished 5th in race two.  The final race of the season was a thriller, Max embroiled in a four-way tussle for the win, ended up on top.

He finished the year 5th in the championship and as the graduate class champion.
